Mixed Feelings Once Again. =\
(Camp Is Over!)

i left camp the last day early
for school. (glares)
haha.

with a superduper lack of sleep.
(think i'm currently holding
a personal record of less than 15hours
over the past one week >.< )

but i have to say,
the camp was a success! =]

to record every detail that
meant something/was significant to me
would take too long,
so i'll just summarise a teensy bit
of what i'd like to express.

first of all, i'd like to thank God
for overseeing the entire production!!
it was really a great experience
preparing for this camp.
there were numerous events that
when the camp committee looked back upon,
we knew that He was there guiding us.

next, i must say that it was
awesome being a part of the committee.
i respect the camp commandants, Sean & Sal
for the effort that they put in despite
the many challenges that came, some, even,
arriving unexpected/on very short notice.
the first instance i knew the camp was God's
came in the confirmation of the camp theme verses.

psalm23:1-4
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

i'm really thankful for my fellow merrymaker Mossy
who faithfully worked with me on the games.
most of the programme turned out well
(kudos to his ability to be flexible and to modify).
he was my calm kanchiongness-suppressant
who had a wonderful servant heart.
i admire him for his high level of tolerance.

ofcourse, there's lePastor May
who gave us autonomy in decision-making.
she totally trusted us in the entire planning
and that gave me leeway to learn alot from the camp.
i hope she gets sufficient rest,
now that it's over.
she wasn't feeling too good
even before ADC2008 started.

i have to say that i am extremely proud of
the 4 flavour leaders:
-Blackcurrant's Fiona
-Raspberry's Rebecca
-Pear's Alicia
-Mandarin's Shawn
they really displayed leadership qualities
and considering how i've known them
this past 5yrs plus, i can only say
they've really grown in maturity.
handling the flavours was a tough task,
especially since we had quite a number of new friends.
but they managed to gel the flavours together
and their efforts towards encouraging camaraderie
is commendable. =]

then we have the camp committee:
-SaiKang Warriors' Dawn & Joel
thankyou for entertaining our many
last minute requests so cheerfully
despite the many other things you had to do.
-Admin's Amanda
i really appreciate the help in preparing
for registration, the on-short-notice pickup,
the constant joy that you always are.
-TummyFiller's Jomel
despite the tight schedule, the meals were all ready!
only complaint: lunch02 was hot!
but you already know that =P
-Nurse Sarah
haha, if there's anyone who's most compliant
and eager to help even though last minute
adjustments have to be made,
that will definitely be her.
thanks, for the aid you lent to the MerryMakers!
-MemoryCapturer Colin
who agreed to be our camper-cum-photographer
(with his fancy equipment and all) =P

i'm not forgetting the YoungAdults:
Daniel, Ian, Sarah, Lydia, Jesu, Thomas
who helped us in any way we required help.
they were a prayerful and understanding bunch
whose contributions to the camp
mustn't go unnoticed.

to my "Angel Joanne":
thankyou for looking out for me,
blessing me with sweets and goodies,
and many reminders to hydrate myself
throughout the camp.
i really appreciate the yummy brkfast
you lovingly prepared for me
at my thickskinned request. heh.

to my "Mortal Alison":
you're a really sweet girl!
sorry if i hadn't been as active an angel
as others were.
but you were patient and adorably unsuspecting!
(betcha didnt know it was me!) =P

other campers who brought smiles to my face:
PennyAnne: a cheerful helper
Shermaine: a joy-bringer
Martin: a cool dance choreographer
Sarah L: an endearing girl
and quite a few more!

this year's camp was really enjoyable.
and memorable.
(can't wait to get the photos!)
i'm not saying that just because
i was involved in the planning,
but seriously..

seeing how God's goodness and grace and mercies
have been over CCK's TJC,
the upcoming transition will be an easier experience.

i will definitely miss the many people
who have touched my life
even in the littlest ways.
and the new friendships
that i'd formed over the past 4days.

but i'm sure this is not the end.
(someone actually left me with parting words
that he be invited to my not-in-the-near-future wedding!)
haha, yes. that i will do! =P

well, as things come to a close,
i hope that all i am/do will just continually
bring God and others around me joy. =]
