after the meeting
on the way home
walking down the stairs
i slipped, slided
landed somewhere
four steps down
hurted in few places
but one hurt the most
the reflex reaction
to protect myself
resulted
in instant bruising
the swelling purple
a sharp pain that jabbed
my arm
tears leaked, face contorted
that only lasted a moment
pieces picked up
made my way to the front door
reached home safe,
a haven of comfort
nursed the wound
it is still tender
concerns of fracture
brushed aside
i just want everything
to be okay.

the study trip =]
was away march 4th-7th.
spent 4 days in KL,
some of which involved
interacting with students
from the University Kembangsaan M'sia.
it was a really packed study trip
and i felt that we rushed through
much of the programme.
yet i have to say that
i learnt the most
from the visit to the CBR centre.
it was inspiring to see
what can be done
when one has limited resources.
the enthusiasm the clinician
had for the profession shone
and it made me wonder
why what was accomplished
hasn't been done yet.
ignorance?
the system?
lack of passion?
difficulty in obtaining financial support?
whichever it is,
i feel that a lot more
in S'pore can/should be done.
