i thank God for the sense of smell..
and for a forgiving dog..

i just did something so mean!!

i chased the helpless Skippy
around the house,
reprimanding him for
a crime he did not commit!

the pool of liquid
in the middle of the toilet floor
wasn't pee!

no wonder he scooted
away so fast
from the living room
to under the dining chair
to behind mummy
to jie's room
before i dragged him
into the toilet for his testimony..
-oh, i feel so guilty- :(

'twas only after the scolding
and punishment of sitting still
when i was clearing up the mess
did i consider the viscosity (<- a term i learnt in physics)
of the yellow aqueous material (<- that, in chemistry)
and it's -canyoubelievethis- smell (<- observation skill from biology)
before deeming it impossible to be pee.

and the blameworthy fluid
was unquestionably
DETTOL!!

rawwr!!
thank God for the sense of smell
and for an ever-forgiving dog
who nuzzled me when i said sorry.. :)

oh oh oh!

i own a Rubik's Cube!!
happyhappyme~
and i'm on my way to
completing the 3-by-3 white face and beyond!!!

ps. shifu sean, faster teach me! :D

cck anniversary! :)

didn't get to eat much nice food,
dainty hard to find room name (CRYSTAL ballroom),
intricate+retro bling+colour-filled interior,
interestingly stuffed goodie bags
(oh, the bag itself was reallyreally pretty!)
lotsa painful soles stomping.

the above summarises bits of today.

suddenly remembered i was supposed
to do back-up just the day before.
panic! well, abit.
but things went smoothly today. :)

the items put up by each ministry were nice.
- first up was the Children!
Sing, Shout, Dance~
(my Josh and Jolice were simply adorable.)
- then the Filipino Ministry!
a interpretative dance of "Above All".
it amazed me. had my total attention. :)
- next was the Worship Ministry.
the guitars were un-amped
so couldn't hear, but drums were good.
- FINALLY *drumroll*
the Youth/YoungAdults The Joshua Connection!

the dance, as mentioned some lines ago,
hurted my poor soles.
thankfully the retro stage was stomp-magnifying,
allowing the impact of the slapdance
to reach the back of the long hall.
all of us decked in black tops and jeans,
with green/black-streaked cheeks (some chins & foreheads!)
coupled with the slap-smack-clap-stepSTOMPing
must've looked real menacing.
heeh~
RAWWWWR!!

many thanks to a few dear people
who generously and lovingly
dished out the food for my table
when the rest of us were
busying about getting ready.
THANKYOU SEAN
THANKYOU JOYCE
THANKYOU ALICIA
THANKYOU SEAN
i didn't go hungry after all!

pleasant surprise to see Stupendous' friends
once again, nice to have them here.
think i kinda scared jiahe when i greeted her.
and i rawr-ed all over the place
when there was cammo on my face.
*grins*

pity, few photos were taken.
ugh. how i wish i had a camera of my own~

14/07/07 & 21/07/07. 29/07/07

two happyhappy days for me!

14/07/07
first, the war games!!
it was loads of fun playing
- gross dog and bone
- interesting captain's ballpapaya/watermelon/rawchicken
- stinky forfeit "hai dai"
- icky pass the cream
all training for THE war.

my team completed our mission successfully!
heh. planting three flags at an enemy's base
wasn't too hard after all.
only injury was a shot that
landed on my neck. ouch.
but other than that, i had enjoyed myself.
the company, the games, the laughs.
a pity those i invited couldn't make it. :(

21/07/07
next, the potluck!
uh, icebreakers
- whacko (a hard-to-remember name
was a whack-less advantage! *whew*)
- murderer (aww, man.. i died before

i could wipe out half the village. *bleah*)
then praise and worship which was
my very first time in a band context!
uh, can't say it was up-to-standard
but it's not up to me to decide! =])

after that, message shared by Ps May
about who He is was good,
although there wasn't much time.

food!! heeh~
ate LOTS, thanks to those who contributed. :)
sushi, carrotcake, rice, chickencurry, satay,
fishballs, friedwanton, brownies, koniyakujelly.
did i miss anything out?

then it was Girls v Boys TABOO!!
not all played 'cos some left early.
anyway, fun! haven't played that in quite a while.
good to have my sisters on my team who
could follow my trail of thoughts. =]

manythanks to the committee:
'rah, sal', penny', 'licia, dan' :)

29/07/07

Someday We'll Know - Mandy Moore
manythanks to Dawn-John! =]

Someday We'll Know

Ninety miles outside Chicago
Can’t stop driving I don’t know why
So many questions, I need an answer
Two years later you're still on my mind

Whatever happened to Amelia Earheart?
Who holds the stars up in the sky?
Is true love just once in a lifetime?
Did the captain of the Titanic cry?

Oh, Someday we’ll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we’ll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we’ll know
Why I wasn’t meant for you

Does anybody know the way to Atlantis?
Or what the wind says when she cries
I’m speeding by the place that I met you
For the ninety-seventh time...Tonight

Someday we’ll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we’ll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we’ll know
Why I wasn’t meant for you
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

Someday we’ll know
Why Samson loved Delilah
?One day I'll go
Dancing on the moon
Someday you’ll know
That I was the one for you

Open up the world
I bought a ticket to the end of the rainbow
Watched the stars crash in the sea
If I can ask God just one question
Why aren’t you here with me tonight?

Oh, Someday we’ll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we’ll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we’ll know
Why I wasn’t meant for you
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

Someday we’ll know
Why Samson loved Delilah
One day I'll go
Dancing on the moon
Someday you’ll know
That I was the one for you

------------------------------------------------
this is a really prettypretty song.
beloved Dawn sent it to me as encouragement
after i led cell (for my very first time!)
on Samson's life, following a book entitled
Finishing Well. =]

wow, has it really been TWO WEEKS since I last updated? *clears away cobwebs*

hm, nothing much has been happening in my life right now,
other than that i know what God wants me to do
and i am trying my best to be faithful in my study.
it's a real dread but i really have to get through this.

anyway, on a lighter note,
this month is YOUTH MONTH!!
YAY~ =]

uh, well, the Youth & YA is celebrating it with
1. A Saturday of War Games
--> 14th July 2007
--> 1300-1830 hours
--> Bring stuff for showering
--> Bring one entire extra set of clothes
--> The above was including inner garments
--> Wear a set of "disposable" clothes
['cos the organisers say they'll make us so
messy that it'll be unwashable]
--> At St Margs' Pri

2. A Saturday of Potluck
(I can't remember lunch/dinner)
--> 21st July 2007
--> Since i don't know which meal of the day this
will be, i obviously don't know the time as well!
--> At St Margs' Pri

YUP!
Can't wait for the War Games!!
Well, not that i am a girl of violence, no no no..
Heeh~
Just that i'm inviting my friends and
am praying really hard that they will come!

oh, another event coming up soon is..
CCK's 21st Anniversary!! *wootz*

haha.
and as tradition goes,
the Youth & YA are putting up an item.
oh, this is an interesting one,
a kinda dance we've never done before.

i remember last year we did a
Saturday Night Fever Ah-Go-Go Swing Dance.
that was real fun, a partner dance.
haha.

this year it's real different.
we're not even having music,
and the weekly Sunday practices have left
and are still leaving me
with smarting palms
with bruised thighs
with sore calves
with agonized soles.

wondering what could've done that?
here's a hint:
[well, this is how the choreographers described it]
it was inspired by some Maori tribe doing the Haka
y'know, the sorta war cry that ruggers roar?
i'm not sure before a match or after victory, though.

haha.
guessed it yet?
well, i don't think it really looks like that,
but it's inspired by that..

and here goes..

it's a SLAP DANCE.

heh~
but despite the complaints,
it's actually quite fun.
it's a sorta dance that all involved
have to be in sync to look good.
we're working on that, though. =]

yeah, and if i am still stumbling on stage
and losing my balance
and forgetting my moves
and slap-step-clap-smacking a beat behind everyone else
by the 29th July?
just know i tried my best. :P

i'm back!

o0okay..
actually, i've already been for quite some time already..
anyway.. the Church Camp was overall good.

let me tell you about the venue first.
it was Renaissance Melaka Hotel Malacca.
here's what it looks like from the outside.
[this was taken off a website. :P ]
and this is what my room kinda looked like.
i shared it with my sister,
so there's actually two beds,
three pillows per bed,
and it so happens that the picture
captures "my" bed that was nearer to the window. =]
0h! i didn't realise it was called the Superior Room..
[once again, ripped off the website.. >.< ]

the 2 function rooms we were using were okay.
save for the fact that it wasn't a non-smoking level.
i remember on the first night
in the midst of our session,
there was a promoting event for X brand Milk Powder
in the ballroom across the hallway..
even getting from one of the function room to the other
would cause our hair/clothes/whathaveyou
to stink.
the reason?
after the promotion thing,
the people from the associated companies
were boozing and smoking.
yay.
after promoting Milk Powder.
the second night and the third night was as interesting
however to write down what happened would take too long. =X
the food was okay, i had yoghurt for breakfast every day!
[maybe my plan to slim down will work
since i ate healthily for three mornings in a row..]
but most importantly was the sessions we had.
the theme was Victory In Christ.
didn't really know what to expect.
the Speaker shared on Deliverance.
it can be a touchy topic
but i have to say that i learnt alot.
made some commitments,
one of them being
to be a better daughter.
heeh~
i'm on my way of achieving that!
Praise God. =]

Camp Photos.. =]
I couldn't find many nice ones so here's just a few I enjoyed editing..

The adorable girl who runs up to me,
taps me on my arm and disappears. =]

o0okayy.. this place has been really stagnant..

it's two really busy months for me..

starting with the Young Adult Retreat [27th-29th May] which was quite good..
held at Sentosa, we rented 3 huts with two doubledecked beds each..
it was barely enough!
thankfully for some weird reason or another,
Justin brought a hammock.
heh.. and that was one of the guys' beds..
there were nine girls but only eight staying over each night
so accomodation for us were just nice..
and i think six guys, only five staying over each night..
yup..
sessions were good..
we learnt about King Saul and King Solomon..
how they started off well, but didn't finish well..
the former, gave in to the lust for power,
and the latter, giving in to the lust for women,
to put it generally..
the discussions were good too.. :))
we weren't able to cover all we wanted
so we'll continue with learning King David during YA Cell..
the non-session times were enjoyable as well..
we played ultimate frisbee on the beach
and at night, we played card&boardgames..
[which reminds me to bring Cluedo for the last event i'll be writing about..]

then a really happy Saturday[2nd June]..
whereby I watched my first movie at the cinema in..
let's see..
SIX MONTHS!!!
Pirates3 and a happyhappy me~

we celebrated Mummy's birthday[6th June] too!
went to a nice restaurant where i..
*guiltily* overate..
goodness!
my plan to slim down is SO not working..
and going to M'sia later is really NOT helping..
*rawr!*

next up was my trip to M'sia[7th-12th June]..
visited some relatives..
the yearly usual..
goodness.. this was the trip i spent the most on!
two pairs of pants for Fathers' Day (it's a week away but my sisters&i bought early..)
a pair of jeans which was essential ('cos my only pair is fraying badly..)
a pair of girlyshoes (ugh.. why can't we just wear sneakers with everything?!!)
30 pairs of contact lenses (there you go, the bulk of my expenses.. bleah~)
so now i am set back by only about..
a few hundred dollars..
*rawwwr*
this is Ms V. Broke blogging now..
anyway, spent time with my Dad's Mother(we call her Ah Ma.. =])..
it's the FIRST time ever, that she's so cheerful..
sigh~
prayed for her before we left..
may she come to know the Lord soon!
and also my Dad's Sister(she's known as our Ah Gor.. =])..
she's real nice.. gave my sis a 5566 CD from her own collection!
cool or what?!! =D
o0oh.. also had time with my favourite BENJYBOY!! *wootz*
he's my sweetest..
same hairstyle as `him..
and ofcourse, there's Reuben & Abigail too! :))
i think they're my closest cousins from Mum's side..
heh..
and i forgot to mention that earlier during the stay at M'sia
we also caught up with Ezra & Ethan & Yong Chien & Ah Ping Jie..
went to PizzaHut for dinner together,
and then TuaKim's place for her homemade pohpiah!
mmM-MMmmmm.. =]
anyway, this trip was good.. =]

lastly, up and coming is the Church Camp[14th-17th June]..
looking forward to it..
not sure what to expect but one thing's for sure,
i'll be busy most of the sessions doing some thing or another..
hmm.. :S
mayyyyybe after the camp i'll have more to write..
can't promise 'cos i'm not sure i'll be coming here anytime soon again!

o0oh, well..
the once-in-a-blue-moon dusting away of cobwebs is now done..
toodles~ =]
