claiming victory over challenge.

i am learning:

- humility
(true servanthood He demonstrated
in the washing of His disciples' feet.)

- that i am strong, with His strength
(i never knew i could be so courageous.
you may argue that it is adrenaline rush,
or the boldness of intellect
taking over the frailty of emotions,
but i know that it is only
by my reliance on Him
that brought me thus far.)

- that i have peace, and His joy comes from within
(philippians4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.)
(psalm94:19
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought joy to my soul.)

- not to judge, but to be teachable
(i know You've placed me where i am
for a purpose. help me learn
to fulfill everything i am to achieve.
)

i appreciate:

- Him for the family He's placed me in
(He knew whose lives i would be a part of
long before i was even conceived.)

- my family for how we stick together
(we just had 1hr of FamilyTime after dinner.
i'm glad we have each other.)

- other loved ones around me,
for the care and concern showed
for EVERY PRAYER UTTERED
> him
> my girls
> and few boys
> coa friends
> cck loves

i know that:
- HE IS ABOVE EVERYTHING
- HEALING WILL BE COMPLETE
- HIS PROMISES NEVER FAIL.

VICTORY CLAIMED.

the smell of freshly squeezed lemons

oh, to have a waft of lemons
it can only be fresh squeezed lemons

keep me afloat
you be my boat
in this time
of need
for the smell
of freshly squeezed lemons.

loooong overdue updates =P

i thank God for bringing me through year1.
as i begin year2, i resolve to rely on His strength
to not only cope but to excel in my studies!
JIAYOU =D

on a happifying note:
i heard mummy humming today!
it's been a long time since i heard her do that
so it really made me smile. =]

okay, i shall try to summarize some events
that took place over the past few months >.<

Lyd Jiejie's Bday Dinner!
miss the YA alotalot
so it was great being able to meet again.
may our friendships be everlasting =]

Syl received Christ!
Praise God for salvation!
she's one darling of mine whom i really <3 style="font-weight: bold;">

Easter Sunday!

i danced with some of the COA peeps,
a portion of "Awesome God".
it was nice to get to know some of the girls better.

Farah's Dance Performance
i enjoyed the evening-night out with the girls
to watch Farah's dance company.
they were GOOD. =]

Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support Course.
i passed the practical test at first attempt!
if my theory's a pass too,
i am certified to carry out CPR!
cool, aye? =P

SHS Freshmen Orientation
ot0901 won a prize! haha. =P

First Day of School aka Uniform Day 2009!
memories galore.. =P

Club Crawl 2009
praise and thanks be to God
for seeing us through the event.
the road was long and at times trying
but i learnt a lot about God and myself.
the booth was a success too!
check this out: THE BOOTH & MASCOTS

Back2Skool Talentime & Sports Day 2009!
this year's Soiree and OT Freshmen Orientation
were combined and we named it Back2Skool.
it was a real challenge managing this event
as along the way came a number of
hindrances that impeded our progress.
but now looking back at how everything turned out,
i can only thank God for guiding the team and i
to do our best.
i learnt a lot here as well;
my leadership style, humility, to trust.

and i had fun presenting the class performance
"Lean On Me" - DC Talk
i enjoyed seeing the really fun side of the class
and it was rewarding to receive the title
for the Most Entertaining Performance!

well, that's as much as i can remember.
heading off soon!

THANKYOU, PAPAGOD,
for all you're doing in my life =]

i fell.
(an attempt at poetry)

after the meeting
on the way home
walking down the stairs
i slipped, slided

landed somewhere
four steps down

hurted in few places
but one hurt the most

the reflex reaction
to protect myself
resulted
in instant bruising
the swelling purple
a sharp pain that jabbed
my arm

tears leaked, face contorted
that only lasted a moment

pieces picked up
made my way to the front door
reached home safe,
a haven of comfort
nursed the wound
it is still tender

concerns of fracture
brushed aside
i just want everything
to be okay.

the study trip =]

was away march 4th-7th.

spent 4 days in KL,
some of which involved
interacting with students
from the University Kembangsaan M'sia.

it was a really packed study trip
and i felt that we rushed through
much of the programme.

yet i have to say that
i learnt the most
from the visit to the CBR centre.
it was inspiring to see
what can be done
when one has limited resources.
the enthusiasm the clinician
had for the profession shone
and it made me wonder
why what was accomplished
hasn't been done yet.

ignorance?
the system?
lack of passion?
difficulty in obtaining financial support?

whichever it is,
i feel that a lot more
in S'pore can/should be done.

here's my twentyfive

thought i'd list my twentyfive here
since i've been tagged on fbook by friends.

[as prioritised]
01) God takes FIRST place in my life, as does in this list.
02) loved ones matter a great deal.
i will defend them when the need arises.
03) the guy i <3 alot does not like me to play with ikan bilis heads.

[what comes next are in no particular order]
04) like movies, just not the paying-part.
video rentals are waayy affordable!
(all genres but horror please)
05) technology can sometimes be a boon,
but somehow, it doesn't always agree with me.
06) my default face can look fierce.
(only close friends of mine understand
and don't get freaked out/distance away)
07) hope to get married young.
(far cry from times when i was a tomboy:
arm-wrestling and winning the guys)
08) will definitely omit sharksfin soup
on the menu for the wedding dinner.
the way the fishes are killed is cruel.
09) wish paper-chasing wasnt compulsory for survival.
that'd make #7 a more plausible reality.
10) sleeping&waking early is something i miss,
now that i'm in poly.
11) used to be in the infamous TrimAndFit club
to get myself in the acceptable weight range.
(haha, have blackmailable photos on display at home)
12) intend to work on removing the 'fl' in flabs.
(tough one but hope to accomplish before the biomech module >.<)
13) do not take carbonated/sparkling/alcoholic drinks.
reason: taste=ugh.
14) like food but am not fussy.
(only find it hard to come to a decision as to what i want to eat)
15) really like icecream chocolate bubbletea.
not too much, though!
16) have never fried eggs without burning the pot.
(what more, cook?)
17) have quiet moments.
18) do not like sarcasm. or gossip.
trying to cut them out of my speech.
19) want to be a jill of all trades and master of some.
(current: bass guit? hokkiendialect, hakka dialect.)
20) like pretty colours. and pretty colour combinations.
usually 'see' them before i see anything else (design, style, cost, utility)
21) the above said, i can be quite practical and thrifty.
22) planning ahead is something i like to do.
the hard part is sticking to plans made,
but well, flexibility is good sometimes. =P
23) have not decided if mosquitoes in asia
prefer blood type B+ over the others.
(record: 86 bites [or more] after a white water rafting trip in m'sia.
but the trip with U. Bernard was worth it!)
24) i have many scars from falls, scrapes, my being me - clumsy.
(wish i had better skin so they'd heal, though.
there goes my dream of being a model. heh)
25) i cannot believe i took two hours to write the above,
but well. i'm on hols~

there'd be more things about me
that i'd've written if the number
i'd specified weren't twentyfive
but that'll do (for now). =]

it has been quite a while.

THE EXAMS ARE OVER! (whoop-de-doo)
haha, finally cleared the determinants
to whether i will be making it to my second year.

hope i fared okay,
i can only await the results
that will be released in a month's time?

anyway, just an update on
how my hols'll be spent:
SUPER PACKED SCHEDULE!!

1) study trip in m'sia
- gonna spend abt a week there
for exposure to what the education's
like at a university there.

2) m-trip to thailand
- will be away another week,
doing some outreach as well as
help in bit of medical work.
- although it'll be my third trip ever,
am still rather excited as this
will be my first time going
to do such work.
- it seems last-minute to sign up
but i felt that this hols'll be
my only opportunity to do so
for at least the next three years?

3) participation in the school's orientation
- will be an OGL along with the other ppl
who attended the mentorship camp last year.

4) planning the course's freshmen orientation camp
- will be the first ever for the course,
thus this will be slightly challenging.
- however, i'm pretty much excited!
- hope things are planned/executed smoothly.

5) planning the cca's clubcrawl
- not sure what this entails
but it should be alright.

yup! many things for this hol
(one and only, for the 3years in nyp),
BUT
i will factor in time for
- family
- friends
- some revision

PROMISE!

ahh, well.
may this break be spent wisely! =]
