A Day Late... *:P*

Today, I will be experimenting with writing in PROPER English(not Singlish, mind you) for the sake of improving my 'written' language and for the sake of an anonymous viewer of my blog. *winks*

I think I'll start with the events of the 26th of January.
There wasn't any school yesterday due to the school's annual Coss Country run at MacRitchie reservior. It was my first time running there since my secondary school always held the event at Jurong Park, where the scenery mainly consisted of roads and HDB blocks. So, you can say that I was pretty nervous about the unfamiliar surroundings. After all, I had intended to run competitively. Even if I didn't emerge one of the top twenty runners, at least let me win a medal for my house! *sticks outs tongue*
Unfortunately, neither happened. I was QUITE(did you know that the word "quite" has a higher intensity than the word "very"?) disappointed with myself as I felt that i could have done much better. Maybe I ran with the wrong motives. Maybe I should have slept earlier the night before. Perhaps I should have trained, knowing that my competitors were mainly girls from sports CCAs.Whatever it is, it's over.
And there is a lesson to be learnt -- don't ever give up when the going gets tough. Or something like that. I'm not an English expert, you know.
Anyway, I was touched by the way my CG mates cared for me that day. It was really sweet of Joey, Grace and Joel to take cups of Milo for the rest of the CG who had just completed the run.
Oh, when I was cooling down, feeling like such a loser and hoping that I wouldn't feel so woozy, Joey just suddenly cried out that I was bleeding. It was a surprise to me as I didn't recall falling down. Maybe I was too 'stoned' to notice anything so I put on a brave front, claiming that it was just a TEENY TINY abrasion. After all, it's not as if i haven't fallen down before.
It was only when Joey helped me wash my wound, did I realise it smarted. Haha... Yelped like a puppy. But fortunately Melody got a plaster for me and things felt better. *smiles*
The kindest thing that happened that day was the unexpected comfort I experienced from my Joel and SiuJoon. They were encouraging me that as long as I put in my best, nothing else mattered. Twas really nice of them to remind me that. Surprising, since they are guys. In the experience of my sixteen plus years, guys who are nice to girls(WITHOUT a motive) are a rare species. NOT to seem discriminating against males but i guess perhaps those I've met are generally not so mature. PengChong was kind of nice to me, helping me take my bag when my wobbly knees wouldn't bend. Benjamin from another CG also offered to get me a plaster when he saw my bleeding knee. Well, I guess... Maybe chilvary isn't dead, after all. *ponders*
Well, after the entire event was over, I was torn between joining my OG or my CG for lunch. Actually, my OG had informed me of the intended outing beforehand but that was the FIRST proper CG outing and I badly wanted to be part of it. Unexpectedly, I got the best of both worlds since both my OG & CG wanted to go to King Albert's Park for lunch! *grins*
So we all ate at MacDonalds. Oh, a public thank you goes out to PC for helping me get my food! *smiles appreciatingly*
After that, I promised my OG that I would hang out with them so I parted from S53 and we left Macs. There was some debating on where to go. We were deciding between hanging out at Sentosa and going shopping at Orchard. However majority won and Orchard it was.We went to HMV to look at CDs, followed my OGL to buy a pair of slippers, went to the Graffitti Cafe and evantually chill out at Coffee Bean. But by then, the number dwindled from about 16 to 8. It was alright, though. I had fun. *smiles*
By the time i reached home, I was exhausted. But I managed to find a LITTLE time to go through part of my Chemistry notes. Chatted on the phone with an old friend before having QT and chat time with PaPaGod. Yup, so that's mainly what I did that day. Seems like a long day but it was memorable to me.

Since skl allowz us to do ANITING we want as long as we learn sth outta it, my grp came up wiv diz idea to vary de pH values of alkali to make soap... Hahaz... Mmm... Soap, mainli fer recreational purposes... Mmm... Yeah... We wanna c which pH value of soap wld give us soap wiv long lasting bubbles... Hahaz... Yeah... Kinda silli, i guess... But as long as we haf fun during de learning process, i guess idz alrite... Hahaz... *grinz* Mmm... Kinda upset though... Mmm... Aniweiz, 2dae i wanna tok abt de Mission Trip i wenta last yr... *grinz* Well, i spent de 5th-14th of Dec in Thailand... Was part of a team of 7 otha ppl frm my Church, & 12 othaz frm COOS, my previous Church... *:)*
Destination: Northern Thailand, Korat.
Mission: To build hses fer de poor ppl dere...

Mmm... Diz trip was reeli different, compared to de 1st MTrip i embarked on in 2003, to Jakarta, teaching English to de little children aged 5-12, at a skl dere... Mmm... Diz trip was more... Challengin? Mmm... Physicalli... Yeah... Bt i tink it was still fun n i learnt much... *:)*
Well, our team signed up wiv Habitat for Humanity... As i mentioned in my previous post... Mmm... Personalli, i din knoe wadta eXpect wen i went dere... Mmm... Bt wen we first reached de wrksite, i was reeli touched by de mini welcome ting dey had fer us... Mmm... During Pre-MTrip meetingz, we were told tt Thai were reeli nice n polite ppl... Yeah... Bt actuali eXperiencin deir warmth n hospitaliti wen we first arrived was reeli kewl... *:)* De villagers made flower garlands and had given each team member one to wear... It symbolized deir appreciation tt we were dere... Was reeli pretti too!! *:)*
Mmm... We were given lyk... a five-min crash course on hwta use changkol, den sent off to 'watch&learn' frm de supervisors... Mmm... I sae watch & learn cuza de language barrier... we din reeli knoe hwta communicate eXcept thru actions n expressions... *:P* Well, that dae, i learnt hwta mix cement, lay bricks n hammer... Hahaz... & mind u, de bricks tt we had were CONCRETE bricks, idz size, bigger den 3 of my Bio Txtbks put tgt!!! Hahaz... Reeli heavi n mi 'lil sista hadta get helpta lay 'em... So... U kan gauge de weight larh... *bleahz!* *:P*
Aniweiz, de team worked reeli well tgt, accomplishing more den wad was eXpected of us... *yayz!* hahaz... we were onli supposedta do 2 hses n 2 toilet holes bt... hahaz... we managedta help complete 4 hses & 4 toilet holes in total!!! kewl, huh? hahaz... de villagers were kinda impressed since de team was mainli made up of young ppl in secondary skl... *:)*
Well, i guess de main reason y we managedta do so much was becuza our ultimate purpose fer goin dere... to spread de love of PaPaGod... *grinz*yeah... Believe we made an impact in de lives of de ppl dere... yeah... *:)* so i conclude tt tt was reeli tym well spent... *:)*

Honestli, i'm reeli grateful tt i've gotten in2 SAJC... idz reeli de wrk of PaPaGod hu paved de wae fer mi... *:)* and nt onli puttin mi in2 diz skl, bt providin mi wiv frenz & even de subj combi i wanna take... *grinz* Mmm... nw wadz left is choosing a CCA & doin well in my stardiz durin 1st 3mths so tt i'll b ableta stae on afta de resultz R out... reeli nt sure if my resultz will allow mi 2 stae bt... mmm... oh, well... i'll gif everiting 2 PaPaGod... *bleahz!* *:P*

mmm... on2 more serious stuff... my views abt de Asian Tsunami tragedy... My civic's tutor made us reflect (<---his fave word) on tt 2dae... well, science experts sae tt idz a natural disaster... sum debate tt a superior being is meting out punishment on the sinful... then again, others blame mankind for bringin it upon themselves... wiv people burning stuff n creating de hole in de ozone layer... *bleahz!* *:P* i personally find it senseless to play de blame game since it wun get us aniwhere... instead, i tink tt we should focus on wad can b dun for those affected and wad can b dun to prevent de lost of more lives... so far, i'm kinda glad that S'pore's government has bin activeli participatin in providing relief 4 de victims n families of victims... bt we shld do our bit afta all, since we're so blessed n protected... mmm... diz brings mi to touch on wad 1 cld do to help... well, i wldn't mind helpin ppl build houses... cuz, well... i've learnt hwta mix cement n lay brickz n stuff last yr wen i went to Thailand wiv Habitat for Humanity... bt i realise tt de environment tt i imagine myself goin2, wld b alot different frm wad i eXperienced last December... the devastation and destruction wld b of a great scale... i may break down n wun b of ani help to those hu r dere... mebbe i'll take de passive approach to help dem... wait... passive soundz so... negative... mmm... de 'not-so-active' approach... yeah... that soundz betta... yeah... lyk... praying fer wisdom upon de authoritiz so tt dey knoe hwta use de stuff dey've gt, comfort and relief to efficientli reach de victims... yeah... oh, 1 can oso donate useful items n money to de ppl affected... mmm... duzen sim lyk much bt idz betta den nt doin aniting... *bleahz!* *:P*
