Mmm... Aniweiz, 2dae i wanna tok abt de Mission Trip i wenta last yr... *grinz* Well, i spent de 5th-14th of Dec in Thailand... Was part of a team of 7 otha ppl frm my Church, & 12 othaz frm COOS, my previous Church... *:)*
Destination: Northern Thailand, Korat.
Mission: To build hses fer de poor ppl dere...
'Superiors': Under de umbrella of a Fever04 Joshua21 movement ting, or wadeva u call it... *bleahz!* *:P*
Mmm... Diz trip was reeli different, compared to de 1st MTrip i embarked on in 2003, to Jakarta, teaching English to de little children aged 5-12, at a skl dere... Mmm... Diz trip was more... Challengin? Mmm... Physicalli... Yeah... Bt i tink it was still fun n i learnt much... *:)*
Well, our team signed up wiv Habitat for Humanity... As i mentioned in my previous post... Mmm... Personalli, i din knoe wadta eXpect wen i went dere... Mmm... Bt wen we first reached de wrksite, i was reeli touched by de mini welcome ting dey had fer us... Mmm... During Pre-MTrip meetingz, we were told tt Thai were reeli nice n polite ppl... Yeah... Bt actuali eXperiencin deir warmth n hospitaliti wen we first arrived was reeli kewl... *:)* De villagers made flower garlands and had given each team member one to wear... It symbolized deir appreciation tt we were dere... Was reeli pretti too!! *:)*
Mmm... We were given lyk... a five-min crash course on hwta use changkol, den sent off to 'watch&learn' frm de supervisors... Mmm... I sae watch & learn cuza de language barrier... we din reeli knoe hwta communicate eXcept thru actions n expressions... *:P* Well, that dae, i learnt hwta mix cement, lay bricks n hammer... Hahaz... & mind u, de bricks tt we had were CONCRETE bricks, idz size, bigger den 3 of my Bio Txtbks put tgt!!! Hahaz... Reeli heavi n mi 'lil sista hadta get helpta lay 'em... So... U kan gauge de weight larh... *bleahz!* *:P*
Aniweiz, de team worked reeli well tgt, accomplishing more den wad was eXpected of us... *yayz!* hahaz... we were onli supposedta do 2 hses n 2 toilet holes bt... hahaz... we managedta help complete 4 hses & 4 toilet holes in total!!! kewl, huh? hahaz... de villagers were kinda impressed since de team was mainli made up of young ppl in secondary skl... *:)*
Well, i guess de main reason y we managedta do so much was becuza our ultimate purpose fer goin dere... to spread de love of PaPaGod... *grinz*yeah... Believe we made an impact in de lives of de ppl dere... yeah... *:)* so i conclude tt tt was reeli tym well spent... *:)*
